From the Ground Up: Developing organic communities

Sustainable agriculture technologies and organic fertilizer production technologies was shared to at least 600 farmers in seven rice producing cities/municipalities across the country under the OFSP Phase 1. Partnerships were also forged among local government units, non-government organizations, local farmers’ organizations, DA units and the private sector for collective initiatives promoting sustainable agriculture at the local level.

Slow agri sector growth alarms organic farming advocates PDF Print E-mail

Manila, 08 July, (Asiantribune.com): Go Organic! Philippines, a consortium of nongovernment organizations that promotes organic farming is urging the government to implement programs that will help increase food production to mitigate widespread hunger and poverty in the country.

Lawyer Efren Moncupa, lead convenor of Go Organic! Philippines said aside from the various support and extension services that the DA normally provides to farmers, the agency should also implement programs that offer a lasting solution to the farmers’ woes. Read more here.
