Quezon solon pushes for self-regulation in organic farming |

Philippine News Agency August 3, 2009 Rep. Proceso Alcala (2nd District, Quezon province) has assuaged small-scale farmers that he will continue to push for self-regulation in organic farming even as he encourages them to eventually embrace “organic certification standards” in support of government efforts toward organic agriculture. Alcala is the vice chair of the House committee on agriculture and has proposed an organic agriculture bill that aims to institutionalize support of organic farming in the country.
