He said the market is expanding by an average of 30 percent yearly as more people veer away from grains, fruits, and other agricultural products laced with petrochemical fertilizers and toxic pesticides. To penetrate the global organic food market, it is necessary for the country to standardize organic farming practices, establish firewalls along such zones, and reduce substantially the practice of bombarding the soil with synthetic fertilizers, Braganza said.
