From the Ground Up: Developing organic communities

Sustainable agriculture technologies and organic fertilizer production technologies was shared to at least 600 farmers in seven rice producing cities/municipalities across the country under the OFSP Phase 1. Partnerships were also forged among local government units, non-government organizations, local farmers’ organizations, DA units and the private sector for collective initiatives promoting sustainable agriculture at the local level.

Farmers urged to shift to organic farming PDF Print E-mail

The substantial cut in the prices of fertilizer brought about by the continued decline in the price of crude oil in the world market is temporary and not a lasting solution to the looming rice crisis.

Efren Moncupa, lead convenor of Go Organic! Philippines, warned that if the price of crude oil goes up, fertilizer prices and other farm inputs will also increase. Read more here.
