Sustainable agriculture technologies and organic fertilizer production technologies was shared to at least 600 farmers in seven rice producing cities/municipalities across the country under the OFSP Phase 1. Partnerships were also forged among local government units, non-government organizations, local farmers’ organizations, DA units and the private sector for collective initiatives promoting sustainable agriculture at the local level.

100 farmers complete organic farming training PDF Print E-mail

DINALUPIHAN, Bataan: A former secretary and his undersecretary at the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and a national farmer-leader urged all agencies of government involved in agriculture to join hands in promoting organic farming during the graduation Saturday of 100 farmers in Bataan in organic farming training.

Mayor Hernani Braganza of Alaminos City, Pangasinan, former DAR secretary; lawyer Efren Moncupa, former DAR undersecretary for operations and farmer leader Jaime Tadeo, all urged in working together “to promote organic farming as a way of life to improve the income of Filipino farmers, secure the availability of affordable food for Filipinos, ensure better health for consumers and to restore and prevent the deterioration of the environment.” Read more here.
